Fill in a song, its writers and their shares, check they add up to 100%, then print it or save it as a PDF. Free, no sign-up, and nothing leaves your browser.
-

Which accounts do I need?
A few plain questions, then your own list of accounts to open: a PRO such as BMI or ASCAP, The MLC, SoundExchange and a distributor, with what each one costs.
Want the reasons behind the numbers? How to Get Paid is the free guide these tools are built on: nine chapters on where a band’s money comes from.
Questions
Do these tools cost anything?
No. All three are free and need no account, no email and no card.
Do you see what I type?
No. The tools run in your browser and send nothing to our server. The server counts that the page was opened, the same way it counts every page on this site, and that count holds nothing about you or what you typed. Close the page and your answers are gone.
Are these only for US musicians?
Mostly. The rates, accounts and rules are for the US. The split sheet maker works anywhere, because a split sheet is just a signed record of who wrote what.
Can I rely on the numbers?
Use them as a rough guide, not a promise. The calculator’s rates are dated estimates from an outside source, and what a stream pays changes by country, listener plan and month. Fees come from the official sites and can change, so check them on the day you sign up.
These tools are general information, not legal, tax or financial advice. For a big deal, such as a sync offer, a label contract or selling a catalogue, pay a music lawyer for an hour.
