Privacy policy
The short version: we keep the five answers you give on the waitlist form and, if you connect a social account to our app, only what it needs to publish the posts you approve. We never sell or share it, and we delete it when you ask.

Who we are
Split n Spin is a music-distribution service for bands that hasn’t opened yet. Today this website publishes the free How to Get Paid guide and keeps a waitlist, and an early version of the app is in use by our own label (see If you connect a social account). It is run by Eportunity Professionals, LLC, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA (“we”, “us”).
Questions about your data, or a request to see, fix or delete it: email [email protected].
What we collect when you join the waitlist
| What | Why we ask |
|---|---|
| Your name | To address you properly |
| Your email address | To tell you when the beta opens and when the guide changes |
| Your band or project | To plan the beta, which is for about 100 bands |
| Your role (for example “I write songs in the band”) | To understand who the service needs to work for |
| How many people are in the band | To plan the price, which will be per band, not per member |
| The date and time you joined | Added by the site, to keep the list in order |
| Which page or website sent you to the form (for example a guide chapter, or google.com) | Added by the site, so we know which pages lead people to join |
That’s all. We don’t ask for your address, phone number, date of birth or payment details, and we don’t buy or receive data about you from anyone else.
What the site records on its own
- One cookie, named
sns, set when you open the home page. It holds a random code that proves a form submission came from our page and not from a forged one. It ends when you close your browser. If the form needs a fix, the server briefly keeps your answers with it so you don’t have to type them again, and after you join it keeps your name to show the thank-you message. - A scrambled code made from your internet (IP) address, kept for one hour, to limit how many signups can come from one connection. We can’t turn the code back into your address.
- A page count. Our own server adds one to a daily tally for the page you opened and, if another website linked you here, that website’s name (for example google.com, not the full address). The tally records nothing about you: no cookie, no internet address, no browser details. It tells us which pages people read, nothing more.
- Server logs. Like every website, our hosting company and network provider record each request: the IP address, the time, the page asked for and the browser’s name. We use these only to keep the site running and secure.
There are no ads, tracking cookies, analytics scripts or social-media buttons, and the pages load nothing from other companies’ servers. We don’t use your data for profiling or automated decisions.
How we use it
We use your waitlist answers only to:
- email you about Split n Spin: when beta spots open, when the How to Get Paid guide gets a new or updated chapter, and to ask your view on the price;
- plan the beta and the price, using totals like “how many bands of four”.
We don’t email you about anything else, and we don’t add you to anyone else’s list. Every email will say how to leave the list.
For visitors in the UK and European Union: we rely on your consent, given when you join, to keep and use your answers. For server logs and the anti-spam code we rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure. You can withdraw your consent at any time by asking us to remove you.
If you connect a social account
Split n Spin’s app is in early use by our own label, Scribble Scrab Sounds, at scribblescrabsounds.com, and by artists we invite. It plans a release’s posts, and once a member connects an Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or YouTube account, it can publish the posts that member approves. Connecting is optional; without it you post by hand.
When you connect an account, the platform shows you what the app asks for, and you choose. If you agree, we receive and keep:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| The account’s ID, name and picture (for Facebook, the Pages you choose; for YouTube, your channel) | To show which account a post will go to |
| The access codes (tokens) the platform gives us, stored encrypted | To publish the posts you approve, and nothing else |
| The ID and link of each post we publish for you | To show you that it went out, and link to it |
We publish only what you approve: the picture or video, caption and settings you see on the approval screen. We don’t read your messages, followers, contacts or other posts, we don’t post on our own, and we don’t use what we receive for ads, profiling or to train AI models. We never sell it or share it with anyone except the platform you post to.
Google and YouTube. The YouTube upload uses YouTube API Services. By connecting YouTube you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google handles your data under the Google Privacy Policy. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. You can remove our access at any time on your Google Account’s connections page.
Meta and TikTok. Meta handles Instagram and Facebook data under the Meta Privacy Policy, and TikTok under the TikTok Privacy Policy.
How long, and how to delete it. We keep the tokens and account details while the account stays connected. When you disconnect it, or remove our app in the platform’s own settings, the tokens stop working, and we delete them along with the account details. Records of posts already published stay with the release’s history until you ask us to delete them. How to delete your data explains each step.
The app keeps a session cookie while you’re signed in. It’s needed to keep you signed in and isn’t used for tracking.
Who can see it
Only us. We don’t sell, rent or share your details. Two companies handle them on our behalf, only to run the site:
- Hostinger, our hosting company, whose server stores the waitlist file and the server logs;
- Cloudflare, our network provider, which carries every request to the site and protects it from attacks. Cloudflare may set its own short-lived security cookie to tell people from bots.
If we start sending email through an email company, we’ll name it here before the first email goes out. We would disclose your details to anyone else only if the law requires it.
Your data may be stored or carried through servers outside your country, including in the United States.
How long we keep it
- Waitlist answers: until you ask us to remove you, or until the waitlist closes. When Split n Spin opens, we’ll ask whether you want an account. If you don’t answer within 90 days, we delete your entry.
- The anti-spam code: one hour.
- Page counts: as long as they’re useful. They contain nothing about any person.
- The
snscookie: until you close your browser. - Server logs: as long as our hosting and network providers keep them, which is usually a few weeks.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- show you what we hold about you;
- correct it;
- delete it, which also takes you off the list;
- give you a copy in a common file format.
Email [email protected] from the address you signed up with, or reply to any email from us. We’ll answer within 30 days. If you’re in the UK or EU you can also complain to your data protection authority.
How we protect it
The site only works over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). The waitlist file is stored outside the part of the server that the web can reach, and only we can open it. The form is protected against forged submissions and automated spam. No system is perfectly secure: if your data is ever exposed, we’ll tell you, and the authorities where the law requires it.
Children
The waitlist isn’t for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly keep their details. If you think a child has joined, email us and we’ll delete the entry.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use the details you already gave us, we’ll email you first. When Split n Spin opens for paid accounts it will collect more, such as payment and royalty information, and this policy will be rewritten before that happens.
